  • A series of battles took place south east of Pikes Peak in the 1800s among the Utes, Comanches and Kiowa. Disagreeing on hunting grounds and upcoming settler issues. Horses were stolen, killed in battle and have been honored as being part of our Indigenous Culture. An Ute woman is painted depicting doing the horse honor dance.
