  • This bear image represents the western mountain of our homeland. The Medicine men teach that there are four mountains that are key to our teachings. In them there are songs, prayers and a meaning and purposes for each direction.

    The yellow bear resembles sacred corn pollen which we use in blessings and in daily prayers at sunrise. The bear is a spiritual protector of our being, mentally, spiritual, emotional and physical.

    The bear's image is sung about in many of our ceremonies.
