1996 -

Brittany Weistling began her career as a model for her artist dad, Morgan Weistling, before she could talk. At age six she shared the stage with her father at the Prix de West Invitational Art Exhibition and Sale when the painting she posed for, The Dance, won the Purchase Award. Her mother, JoAnn Peralta, has painted her numerous times as well, and collectors have watched her grow up on canvas.

However, she had been studying all those years, too. She has attended the Autry’s Plein Air Paint-out alongside her parents every year, and from a very young age has been immersed in the world of fine art. She has an accurate eye for detail, and her draftsmanship  has been honed with years of working from life. Her artistic passion lies in painting figurative compositions and dramatically lit still lifes. She draws much of her inspiration from the Renaissance and Baroque masters. In 2010 she received a commission from the Autry Museum of the American West. She has since then been commissioned to do many portraits for collectors around the country.

In 2011, at the age of 16, Weistling was invited to be a guest artist in the 2012 Masters of the American West exhibit.  After two years as a guest artist she was invited to be a full participant and has exhibited and sold out every year since.

In 2014 she was invited to be in Settlers West’s American Miniatures exhibition and the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum’s Small Works, Great Wonders annual winter art sale, and she and has been invited back annually since then. During that same year, she was featured in International Artist and Western Art Collector magazines; her painting Emily was featured on the cover of Southwest Art; and she was one of the artists interviewed for Southwest Art’s article “21 Under 31.” In 2019 she was featured in Brio magazine with a full story on her life and art. Art of the West magazine published a full feature article in the 2020 November/December issue on her latest works.
